The Prime Minister has thanked Harrogate for a warm welcome during the Tour de France.

David Cameron visited the town to watch the event on Saturday 5 July.

He was seated in the grandstand near the finish line on West Park.

The thanks were made to Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones during Prime Minister's Questions.

It came after Mr Jones asked the Prime Minister to agree that the roll-out of superfast broadband is a "great boost for jobs" and a way to build on the economic legacy of the Tour de France.
