All the way from one of the worlds best restaurants, The French Laundry in Yountville California, globally renowned chef David Breeden has been visiting The Chef's Table in Melmerby near Ripon.

Right hand man of world famous Thomas Keller, David Breeden has been exploring North Yorkshire as well as helping a local team of professional chefs.

The team from The Chef's Table, which is part of True Foods Ltd, took him out game shooting in preparation for one of the dishes that would be on the menu later than week, visited produce supplier Wellocks, had a day trip to the city of York and then actually helped the team with an evening of cooking.

As one of the people who had inspired chefs from The Chef's Table, David Breeden certainly added another level of pressure to the evening (imagine cooking alongside one of the worlds best chefs!), but the team described the experience as humbling and a privilege. Not only that the audience of the evening was also full of VICs (very important chefs)!

The menu featured local and British produce including Kilnsey trout, Scottish scallops, Whitby crab, beef cheeks from Yorkshire and even Branston pickle, proving even 3 star Michelin chefs have time for some good old British traditions.

Beth Parsons went to talk to Aled Williams and Darren Prideaux at True Foods in the Chefs Table kitchen to find out what would be in store for diners.
