What links are there between healthy eating and learning? On International School Meals Day 2018 we've been finding out...

Eating a healthy balanced diet improves concentration, memory and focus, all three of which are needed for a day in the classroom.

Thursday 15th March 2018 is International School Meals Day, a time to have a think about what is on your child's plate, not only at home, but at school too.

Two places that know a lot about the importance of nutrition are local fresh produce suppliers Class One Direct and school Queen Ethelburgas Collegiate who cater for 800 students at breakfast and dinner time, and a whopping 1500 students at lunchtime.

Making sure the balance of nutrients is correct is vital to encourage successful learning. 

So what kind of foods are considered best for the brain?

A well-balanced diet is essential whatever age you are, but considering how much you learn during your school years, getting a good school dinner is hugely valuable to your child's education.
