Did your royal wedding invite get lost in the post? You can still celebrate in regal style, without having to go all the way to Windsor.

Street parties are a staple of British culture, so to get into the festive spirit, Alexander's in Skipton are throwing an indoor street party inspired event.

It gets even more British than that - afternoon tea will be served for Kings and Queens, as well as a more child friendly variation for younger Princes and Princesses! Their afternoon tea features miniature scones, a little chipolata hotdog, tiny toasties, an assortment of sweet treats, and of course the quintessential cucumber sandwich.

Alexanders are set to be busy throughout the wedding season. As the weather gets warmer, the terrace lends itself to barbecues featuring food from around the world to transport you away on summer holiday. In July there's even a proper Ibiza style White Party on the gorgeous terrace overlooking the canal.

A full list of the special events can be found on Alexander's website.

Ben Franklin from Stray FM's Food and Drink Show went along to Alexanders to fill his diary with all their upcoming events:
