On warm summer days, the last thing you want is to be in a warm kitchen making dinner. Luckily, it's not hard to eat out and still eat healthy.

While they're already a well established venue for their healthy breakfasts and nutritious coffees, Filmore & Union's evening menu has had a summertime overhaul.

The new menu, with a fixed price for both two and three course options, features some dairy free, gluten free and vegan options in true Filmore & Union style. Packed with flavour, some of the new dishes include ginger and lemongrass chicken, with turmeric roasted potatoes and brocolli and saffron sauce, and a starter of asparagus set on white bean hummus with crispy potatoes.

To prepare each branch for the new menu, the head chefs stepped back from the kitchen counter, and supervised the branch managers in preparing the new dishes.

This meant that the whole menu got tried and tested, but also allowed the front of house staff to really get to grips with the food they serve.

Stray FM's Ben Franklin went to watch the cook off and sample some of the new menu.
