There's no denying that the vegan lifestyle is becoming more mainstream. One Asian restaurant in Harrogate is ready with a new 12 page menu of vegan food.

Four months in the making, Cardamom Black's new vegan menu offers a wide variety of dishes for it's vegan customers. Where many restaurants have a couple of dishes for vegans on their menu, at Cardamom Black there is something for all tastes.

The menu was created from scratch, rather than based on substituting ingredients to try to work back from a current menu.

During cooking, the food is prepared on a totally different production line to food containing animal products to avoid cross contamination. Because all the food is prepared totally fresh, Cardamom Black can also cater for other dietary needs, including dairy free and gluten free.

In the summer weather that's hit Yorkshire lately, it's also the perfect place to dine outdoors, catching the sun until late in the evening. Over summer, they'll be open from midday, so you can enjoy your food and drinks outside for even longer.

Stray FM's Ben Franklin visited Nick, the manager of Cardamom Black to hear more about how and why the menu was created:
