Popular Skipton bar and restaurant Alexander's prepares to launch their exclusively brewed beer in homage to ex-resident of their town centre location.

Brewed by Beer Monkey, a Skipton brewer based near the Snaygill Industrial Estate, a new beer will soon be available exclusively at Alexander's Bar and Kitchen in the town centre.

Following a growing trend in craft beer, the drink will be called 'Goldies' and will be served in a  traditional pint glass, as opposed to the popular scooner size frequently served at Alexander's for richer flavoured drinks.

Why is the Alexander's beer called Goldies?

The site that Alexander's Bar and Kitchen is on in Skipton, was previously David Goldie's shop for many years. Local people will remember the shop which sold traditional clothing for men including coats and hunting gear, as well as school uniform.

The name also reflects the light style and colour of the beer which is a pilsner.

Cocktails at Alexanders

For special occasions (or whenever you fancy really...) a wide range of cocktails are available at Alexanders in Skipton.

Two cocktails that the team are particularly proud of are The Gin garden and The Great Alexander.

THE GIN GARDEN - Alexander’s herb infused gin miniature, served over smoking dry ice with rose liqueur, floral syrup, fresh lemon & rosemary

THE GREAT ALEXANDER - brandy with caramel & double espresso over salted caramel gelato

Off-Piste opens for 2018 at Alexander's in Skipton

Running from 19th November 2018 until mid-January 2019 the pop-up alpine themed restaurant Off-Piste at Alexander's is returning to Skipton for the second year.

Following a hugely successful season last year, visitors to Alexander's are looking forward to cheese fondue, log fires and mulled wine
