A festival which aims to celebrate women and beer returns to Harrogate next week.

  • 'Women on Tap' takes place from 1-5 May
  • It aims to celebrate women and beer, showcasing female brewers
  • A number of events are taking place in various venues over the five days
  • The festival is in its third year

'Women on Tap' is in its third year and will take place between 1-5th May.

It's main aim is to celebrate women and beer, to tackle the misconception that it's a male dominated industry.

The 26 events will showcase female brewers as well as musicians and comedians.

Organiser Rachel Auty said:

"We've got a huge number of events this year, it's grown massively.

"All different events showcasing women in music, women in comedy, and all around the theme of beer, women making beer and getting more women into trying beer and expanding their pallet."

Rachel says the festival isn't just for women.

She added:

"We're about showcasing women but we very much want everyone to get involved.

"This is about something that's for Harrogate and it's about something that's for the beer industry.

"So we're showcasing our town but we're also hopefully just trying to tip that perception that beer is a man's sport, I guess!"
