The NHS Trust which runs Harrogate District Hospital is expecting to record a surplus in its finances this year.

According to a report, that makes it the only one in Yorkshire which is not predicted to make losses.

Jonathan Coulter, Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, said: "All NHS organisations have significant financial challenges.

"Like other Trusts, we have a workforce committed to providing high-quality care and who also recognise the financial challenges that the NHS is facing.

"We are currently looking to deliver a small surplus of approximately £250,000 for 2015/16."
