Stray FM is supporting an appeal to help Harrogate's poorly children.

The Rainbow Fund has been launched to raise £31,000 for a transport incubator which will transfer critically ill babies to other departments at Harrogate District Hospital and units further afield.

The current incubator is now showing its age and can no longer be serviced.

In addition, £25,000 is needed to provide new equipment in the children's outpatients unit.

Another target of £25,000 has been set to help the charity Bliss recruit a Senior Volunteer Training Officer.

Their role will be to increase the number of volunteers in neonatal units and improve the support they give to parents.

As part of the fundraising campaign, more than 90 schools across the Harrogate District are being encouraged to get involved, with children becoming 'Rainbow Warriors'.

They can earn themselves special badges and certificates for raising money.
