A new baby is a time for celebration, but for many women, the experience of pregnancy and birth can trigger mental health issues.

A new group has been set up in Ilkley for women who are experiencing perinatal mental illnesses, such as postnatal depression, antenatal depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety.

The group, which is affiliated with national charity PANDAS, has been set up by Naomi Dannenburg, who developed PTSD after the difficult birth of her son.

Naomi says the group will help signpost women to more support services, with the aim of making people feel they don't have to suffer alone.

Tara Hilderbrant, who suffered from postnatal depression, helps Naomi run the group.

Naomi and Tara tell Stray FM's Lisa Darvill more about their experiences and the Ilkley PANDAS:

The group meets once a month.
