Did you know... research has shown that being physically active and good nutrition can half the chances of cancer returning?

Yorkshire Cancer Research have joined hands with the Leeds Rhinos to provide special programs to cancer patients to improve not only their health and fitness, but also with the social and confidence difficulties that often come alongside dealing with cancer. Ranging from circuit training, netball and even dancing the competitive spirit and determination of the cancer patients involved is inspiring others to get involved. You can find out more about the Leeds Rhinos partnership with Yorkshire Cancer Research at an event coming up.

On Thursday 16th November 10am - 4pm Life with Cancer 2017 takes place at the Harrogate Convention Centre, and there will be a huge range of help and support on hand as well as the Leeds Rhinos across a wide variety of subjects including finance and law, talking about cancer with loved ones and managing side effects. You can see the full programme and register to attend for free here.

Will Smith went along to Headingley Rugby Ground to meet Leah Simmons from Yorkshire Cancer Research, cancer patient Sara Williamson and Adam Lunn from Leeds Rhinos.

More health and well being stories from Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale.
