Whichever stage of cancer treatment you or a loved one is in, it's unlikely to be easy. But did you know that there are  groups you can get involved in which are doing brilliant things for other people in a similar situation?

LEAR Fitness offer free pilates classes for women who have or have had breast cancer, and this is set to expand to more types of cancer in the very near future. These Pink Ribbon Pilates classes are hosted by physiotherapist Elise Mailloux and Patsy Rochester.

  • Physically activity can reduce the chances of cancer returning
  • Class movements that won't push  mobility too far or cause pain on the body
  • Individually tailored to the needs and abilities of each person
  • Classes last 30 minutes each which lessons fatigue and are in small group sizes
  • Restores confidence and sociability
  • Held off-site at LEAR Fitness in Harrogate rather than a medical venue
  • Works hand in hand with organisations such as Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Sir Robert Ogden Cancer centre
  • The classes are FREE!

You can see when Elise is hosted her next class or get in touch with the LEAR Fitness team here.

LEAR Fitness will also be appearing at the Yorkshire Cancer Research Life with Cancer event 2017 on 16th November offering Pilates classes with attendees.

Beth Parsons went to talk to Elise from LEAR Fitness about their Pilates classes for breast cancer patients ahead of their appearance at Life with Cancer 2017 this month.
