Life with Cancer 2017 took place at the Harrogate Convention Centre on 16th November for the first time. The event welcomed hundreds of people who have been affected by cancer, either because they are living with it themselves or because they are caring for others who are affected.

Topics that were covered included managing side effects, financial and legal advice, talking to children about cancer, physical exercise and nutrition. The event was designed with the input of cancer patients who told the charity about the areas where they felt they lacked support, so would find help and guidance valuable.

Cancer can affect anyone, at any time, and this video which was created by Chris Rawson illustrates exactly that.

Stray FM's Health and Well Being Show went along to the Harrogate Convention Centre to meet Chief Executive of Yorkshire Cancer Research Kathryn Scott, Michelle Harvie a research dietitian from the Prevent Breast Cancer Research Unit in Manchester and cancer patient Barbara Hibbert.
