Local football player smashes £10,000 charity target

Local teenager and football player Chloe Bellerby has raised over £10,000 for Mind, a mental health charity, by walking from Leeds to London. 

She was inspired to complete the walk after her own encounter with depression. Though she had her dad for company on the walk, Chloe admits it was a struggle. 

"I think the second day was the hardest. I broke down, I thought  'I can't do it anymore', but a few people tweeted me and rang me and just said 'You can do it, just remember why you're doing it' and that's what got me through it. "

Chloe is Team Captain of the girls' development team, and Harrogate Football Club rallied support for her fundraising. From charity events in support of Mind, to raffles held to help fundraise, Chloe's £10,000 was reached in the weekend after she finished the walk.
