It's hard to know where to start talking to your loved ones about your own funeral.

It might never seem like a good time to think about life after you've gone. But by putting plans in place now, you can have a say in how your funeral goes, and significantly relieve the stress on whoever plans it.

Dying Matters Week runs from the 14th to 20th of May, and is to elevate the importance of putting plans in place for when you die. Leaving your loved ones in a position of certainty, careful planning can take care of administrative tasks that otherwise need dealing with at an already difficult time.

You might want to pick the music, the flowers, or the location of your funeral. Alternatively, you might want to make sure that it's the send off you'd want, a celebration of life and a day to remember.

Lucy's mother was diagnosed with cancer. Lucy went to Full Circle Funerals to plan the funeral with her, which meant that when her mother passed she was able to make informed decisions about what she would have wanted.

Sarah from Ilkley went to Full Circle Funerals to help write her funeral wishes, even though it might not be for many years yet. She wanted to make sure that if anything unexpected happened, the pressure of planning the perfect funeral didn't fall on her husband. She wanted a funeral that reflected her life, so planned for a sociable celebration of her life.

Beth Parsons spoke to Sarah from Full Circle Funerals about funeral planning and funeral wishes:
