Tennis anyone?

Fuzion 100

Published at 3:49pm 12th June 2018. (Updated at 3:54pm 12th June 2018)

Ilkley lawn tennis and squash club host the "Fuzion 100 Ilkley trophy" once more from 16th - 24th June and Stray FM's Pete Egerton has been along to see exactly what is being served up.

As the summer of sport begins, tennis will once again be at the forefront of minds when Wimbledon starts at the beginning of July. Before the big names grace the courts of SW1, did you realise you can witness some top class tennis at LS29?

OK, so the postcode is perhaps not quite as synonymous with the sport as the aforementioned SW1, but the "Fuzion 100 Ilkley trophy" is a tournament that will feature professional international players and the winner may well pick up a direct wild-card into Wimbledon, not to mention the prize money of over £100,000.

World Class

The exciting element of the Fuzion 100 Ilkley trophy is the prospect of watching World class players close up. Plus, it's a fantastic opportunity for the 500-600 juniors who train at Ilkley to experience a major tournament and witness the professional players in full swing.

Ticket information

Ilkley lawn tennis and squash club has been running since 1880 and although this particular tennis tournament hasn't run quite as long, it's the 4th year the club has hosted the event and so the challenge is to make it better and better every 12 months.

Despite a very dry spring, the courts are being constantly watered and judging by how it looked in 2017, the Fuzion 100 Ilkley trophy is guaranteed to be, once more, a fantastic tennis tournament and a must for any fan of the sport.
