Men: when was the last time you talked about your health? Local male sports team in Knaresborough have been getting some answers to three big questions.

Hear what happened when men's health expert Dr Oliver Kayes from the Leeds Urology Partnership and Stray FM presenter Beth Parsons asked a range of men at the Knaresborough Cricket Club about testicles, prostates and erections.

Not quite what they were expecting when they came to play a spot of cricket...

Would you know how to find lumps in your testicles? What are you looking for?

  • Younger men are particularly at risk with 8 in 10 testicular cancers diagnosed in men under 50.
  • Check regularly and thoroughly so you can be sure of any changes.
  • In particular you are looking for any hard, painless lumps.
  • Anything of concern should be dealt with as soon as possible. The majority of issues are nothing to worry about, but it's always better to get the all clear.

What signs should you look out for relating to prostate problems?

  • Going to the toilet more often (urination).
  • Find it hard to go.
  • A slowing or changing of the stream.
  • Loss of erection.
  • Blood in your urine.
  • Any signs of these should be discussed with your GP or with the team at the Leeds Urology Partnership as soon as possible.
