Glasses are as much a fashion statement nowadays as something we use to see, but choosing the right ones for your face shape isn't as easy as you may think.

Christoper Nixon Optometrists in Starbeck are offering advice and guidance on selecting the right spectacles to suit your prescription, face shape and head size to ensure you look your best.

Frame Selection

Frame selection is important when choosing the right spectacles, but how can you choose the right ones for your unique face shape?

Longer faces need deeper glasses, so as to not exaggerate the overall length of your face, whereas those with round faces should avoid round glasses at all costs.

The colour of your frames are also important, as matching your glasses with your skin tone is as important as choosing your favourite colours.

Lenses

Differences in frame shapes are key when choosing lenses, whether that be finding the right size or the right shape to match your prescription

Those who have strong prescriptions and are short-sighted need to pick something that is not too big, whereas long-sighted spectacle wearers will be best suited to rounded glasses.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are no exemption to the rule, and aren't just about blocking out the sun and looking cool on the beach...

Christopher Nixon Optometrists offer guidance on choosing the right sunglasses to suit your face shape, but also offer the protection from harmful ultraviolet rays.

Incorrectly fitting sunglasses can trick the eyes  into thinking you're protected with a dark tint but still allow harmful rays to reach your eyes, making choosing the right style for your face crucial.
