Private healthcare service Harrogate Harlow are offering a comprehensive health screening service that reveals potential risks through a 'traffic light' system.

  • Patients can receive a full personalised health assessment including consultation and results, with screenings including mental health, sleep health and disease reviews.
  • Based at Harrogate District Hospital, Harrogate Harlow have developed their own ‘traffic light’ system of health risk and show patients exactly which issues may need addressing.

Harrogate Harlow are emphasising the importance of screening to find health issues that could become more problematic in the future through a fully personalised and tailored service.

The comprehensive screening service provides patients with a 'traffic light' system, which shows them which bits are just fine (GREEN), which need monitoring (AMBER) and which need attention (RED).

Dr John Smith, Medical Advisory Committee Chair, explains the screening process and why it's important to address health issues early:

"The idea is to give people an entire overview of their body and health at that time.

"We're all familiar with the services provided by the NHS... but increasingly there is an entire science behind the process of screening - which is early identification of disease processes that are going to cause ill health in the future.

"People often know when they're not right and there's a difference between being unwell and reaching that benchmark when you get picked up by healthcare services and just knowing there's something wrong with you that you're not able to put your finger on."

Health checks and screening is tailored to the patient and can include:

  • Symptoms and disease review
  • Medication review and recommendation
  • Diagnosis and second opinion
  • Metabolic risk and cardiovascular risk (diabetes, heart attack, stroke)
  • Bone health and osteoporotic risk
  • Mental health
  • Sleep health
  • Prostate risk and recommendation
  • Nutrition, digestion and liver health
  • Kidney health
  • The full ‘MOT’
