Popular Harrogate drinks brand Spirit of Harrogate are set to unveil 'Solo' - their new pre-mixed gin in support of the UCI Road World Championships 2019.

  • 'Solo' will be an official supplier of the UCI Road World Championships 2019 that will be hosted by Yorkshire between 21st-29th September.
  • The ready-mixed drinks will feature five different flavours, including the newly launched Slingsby Marmalade Gin.
  • Spirit of Harrogate will be heavily involved in the UCI's when they arrive on Saturday, including

Spirit of Harrogate's 'Solo' range has been developed for the UCI Road World Championships 2019, providing a refreshing pre-mixed gin drink for spectators of the tournament.

The company will also have their own sampling area in the UCI Fan Zone, complete with a comfortable seating area for relaxing and sampling the new Solo range.

Spirit of Harrogate co-founder Marcus Black explains how he was keen to get involved in the Championships when they arrive on Saturday:

"We're incredibly proud as a proud Harrogate business and brand that such an amazing international event has been brought to our own home town.

"It was something that was too good of an opportunity for us to let pass by and we wanted to play a full part in bringing Harrogate to world."

Solo will be available in five different flavours and provided at a number of different venues throughout the UCI Road World Championships

The five 'Solo' flavours, which also feature an alternative for those who wish to enjoy Slingsby Gin without tonic, will be:

  • Rhubarb Gin and Ginger Ale
  • Gooseberry Gin and Mediterranean Tonic
  • London Dry Gin and Tonic
  • Rhubarb Gin and Elderflower Tonic
  • Marmalade Gin and Mediterranean Tonic

The Solo range will be available throughout the UCI's at the Championships' multiple bar venues, as well as at the Spirit of Harrogate retail unit on Montpellier Parade and at various Harrogate businesses.

The brand new Slingsby Marmalade Gin will feature as one of the five flavours of the pre-mixed 'Solo'

The world cycling event was last hosted in the UK in 1982, with its arrival in Yorkshire ending a 36-year absence.

With all races ending in Harrogate, the area may see some disruption on the roads, however Marcus is excited to welcome the world to Harrogate:

"Cycling is a huge sport that is appreciated and enjoyed across the entire planet. The very fact that it's come to Yorkshire is huge but for every race to finish in our town and to showcase what an amazing place Harrogate is.

"So many foreign visitors and people are coming to enjoy the environment that we take for granted sometimes, which is immense for our town."
