Which pub will be crowned Yorkshire's favourite?

Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2014

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 7:49pm 27th May 2015. (Updated at 12:31pm 28th May 2015)

The finalists for Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2015 have been announced after a record-breaking year of voting.

They include West Tanfield's Bull Inn, the Flying Duck in Ilkley, the Royal Oak in Ripon and the Craven Arms in Appletreewick.

The annual competition was first launched by tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire in 2011 and the top 30 nominated pubs will once again feature in an Ale Trail leaflet.

Voting is now open at www.yorkshire.com/pub and closes on 19 June, with the winner being announced at the Great Yorkshire Show on 14 July.

Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: "Once again we have seen a record number of nominations and votes in this competition, which shows that the passion for Yorkshire's pubs has far from faltered.

"Yorkshire is known for its rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes, but our welcoming collection of pubs are just as important in our bid to sell Yorkshire to the world.

"We recently won a silver medal at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, with our garden, Brewers Yard, celebrating the county being home to more micro and independent breweries than anywhere else in the UK.

"Every pub that was nominated for the title of Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2015 should be congratulated and I look forward to seeing our winner collecting their title at the Great Yorkshire Show in July."
