AUDIO: Cancer survivor's story gets "heart-warming" feedback

Jackie Buxton

7:01am 7th August 2016

A North Yorkshire author's very personal account of battling breast cancer has helped other people cope with their own illness.

Jackie Buxton, who lives near Harrogate, wrote a book about her treatment - including the positive aspects of the experience.

'Tea & Chemo: Fighting Cancer, Living Life' also raised money for the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre at Harrogate District Hospital and The Haven in Leeds.

Jackie says the feedback from readers has been "heart-warming", and after the success of that book, she's published a new one called 'Glass Houses'.

It's described as a "modern-day fable of crime, redemption and hypocrisy".

Jackie has been telling Stray FM more about her writing:
