Shopkeeper assaulted on Skipton High Street

Police are investigating after a shopkeeper was allegedly assaulted in broad daylight on Skipton High Street.

The incident, which officers say appears to have been unprovoked, took place outside the Just Jeans Shop at around 4.40pm on Monday afternoon.

Shop windows were also smashed.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested and released while still under investigation.

Police are carrying out enquiries, with any witnesses urged to come forward.
