Armed police have been deployed in Silsden after police received a report of a man with a gun.

West Yorkshire Police say they were called at 9.08 this morning to a report of a man with a firearm by the canal in Hainsworth Road.

A police spokesperson said: "Armed officers were deployed to the area, but the male who was described as white and around 30 years old, was not found."

Police have since arrested a 15-year-old male in relation to the incident. He is currently in police custody.

After speculation on social media, West Yorkshire Police has also confirmed this incident is not being linked to the discovery of a body at Apperley Bridge.

The body of a man was found in Dobson Locks in Apperley Bridge at 7.15 this morning. He's thought to be from the local area.
