As many as eight people have been involved in a collision in the Dales, which led to long tailbacks yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services first received reports of an incident involving two cars and motorcycles at 2.49pm on Sunday.

The collision happened on the A65 at Long Preston, near Station Road.

Two casualties needed hospital treatment, with one being taken by road and the other by air ambulance.

The fire service says no-one was trapped.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area, with diversions put in place.
