The Gas Chat Tour are in Harrogate

A group of gas engineers have arrived in Harrogate on a charity tour.

The team are aiming to raise £100,000 for The Candlelighters Trust - a charity helping families who have children with cancer.

They are travelling from Land's End to John o' Groats installing boilers for people.

Allen Hart, a registered gas engineer from Guiseley, has been offering free boiler installations and servicing for customers in return for a donation to the charity.

His reason behind the event is due to the loss of his daughter to cancer a few years ago.

The team all want to raise as much money as they can.

They have currently raised just over £75,000.

National Technical Sales and Quality Manager for Ariston Allan Carrick, Knaresborough, is excited for the upcoming months: "So this is round seven in Harrogate - it's monthly, so we normally do it on the last Saturday of each month.

"Next month we'll be in Manchester, the month after that we've got Newcastle, and then it's Glasgow, Edinborough then John o Groats.

"The recipients of the boilers are just normal paying customers.

"It all gets registered like any other gas installation - but instead of paying any money to the engineers, they pay it straight into Candlelighters."
