A snowboarder from Harrogate has set her sights on one day competing at the Olympics after been offered the chance to train and compete with the British Team.

22-year-old Krista Daisy takes part in something called boardercross, which sees 4-6 snowboarders race down a course.

It's an athlete funded sport and Krista has launched a gofundme site to raise the £8000 she needs to pay for training and competitions.

Krista told Stray FM: "The Winter Olympics isn't as popular as the Summer Olympics and there's not as much funding behind it at all.

"The entire snowboard cross/boardercross programme is athlete funded so it's a lot on the athlete.

"My family have been great, my mum and brother have supported me and my little brother's loaned me £1000 to pay back eventually!

"They know how much it means to me.

"I've had loads of support from friends, family, people I've never even met before, just going 'go on, do your dream'."
