Harrogate Town is going to host a special match in aid of Parkinson's UK on Tuesday night.

The Charity Cup, which is Harrogate's oldest football competition, is competed for annually on an invitation basis by teams who were successful in the previous season, with the aim of raising money for a local charity.

Knaresborough Celtic, who won last season's FA Whitworth Cup by beating neighbours Knaresborough Town at the CNG Stadium in May, will face Harrogate Veterans who won the West Riding County Veterans Cup.

The game promises to be an intriguing encounter between the young Celtic side, who are now playing in the West Yorkshire League for the first time, and the Over-40s Veterans team who are likely to have some ex-professional players in their ranks.

All money raised will go to Parkinson's UK in memory of the late Joe Billington, who was active in local football for 50 years.

Admission to the game, which kicks off at 7.30pm, is £3 per person and £1 for concessions.
