Rail passengers using the Wharfedale line are being warned of delays to their journeys next week.

From Saturday, 21st October, essential maintenance work will be carried out on Springs Tunnel, near Guiseley.

Work is due to continue until Sunday 29th October.

It means services between Ilkley and Bradford Forster Square won't run at all, with passengers advised to change trains at Shipley.

Trains between Ilkley and Leeds will run via Shipley and Baildon, adding around 20 minutes to journey times.

The delays will affect passengers who use station along the line including Ben Rhydding, Burley in Wharfedale and Menston.

Northern Rail is advising customers to plan ahead and check before they travel.
