Harrogate Christmas lights switch-on

Harrogate Christmas lights switch-on is fast approaching.

The show starts at 4pm and runs until 6pm on Thursday 16th November. 

It'll be held at the The Piazza, Victoria Shopping Centre.

Your hosts for the evening will be Stray FM's Nick Hancock and Will Smith. 

What's more, Channel 5 will be filming too! 

Here's a timeline to help you plan your evening: 

 

4:05PM: Knaresborough Silver Band

Nothing will make you feel more Christmasy than this!

 

4:25PM: Rascals Entertainment/ Poppy the Troll*

From the film “Trolls”,  Poppy will be singing, dancing and entertaining her fans across the Harrogate District. 

PLUS Poppy will also be available for pictures, so the kids can come and meet Poppy! 

*This is how you can get some serious parent points. 

 

4:35PM: Western Primary school choir

We'll be joined by 55 school children aged 7 to 9, singing some festive songs. 

 

4:45PM: Aimee Townend & Ria Davies from St Aidan's 6th Form Chamber Choir

Some more festive medley of songs but with a twist... Ria will be playing the guitar!

 

5:00PM: Thomas Teago – singer, recently signed Warner Music

Thomas' profile is rapidly rising, he has recently been performing at various major UK concerts, alongside artists such as Calum Scott, James Arthur, Nathan Sykes, Alesha Dixon, Sigala and more. 

You'll even get the chance to grab a picture and his autograph!

 

5:15PM: Rascals Entertainment with princesses, superheroes and The Grinch

Ariel and Moana will join the switch-on, singing their classics we all know and love!  

PLUS Transformers Optimus Prime Comedy sketch will be entertaining us with a Dance off followed by Spider-Man acrobatics.

Last but definitely not least, it wouldn't be Christmas without him... The Grinch is making a special appearance

 

5:30PM: Becky Bowe, winner of BBC1's Pitch Battle

A Local from Knaresborough performing covers by some of your favourite artists including Sam Smith and Justin Bieber. 

 

5:53PM: Harrogate Theatre main cat of panto, Beauty and the Beat perform main show dance

 

5:59PM: COUNTDOWN FOR THE SWITCH-ON
