With only just over a month to go until Christmas, Skipton Building Society’s Ripon branch is getting into the festive spirit.

They're holding a sherry and mince pie open day on Thursday 14th December.

The team have decided to raise a glass to the festive season and are inviting local people to join them in the branch and share the delicious festive treats.

Ripon Branch Manager Lynne Garner said: “Everyone loves a glass of sherry and a mince pie at this time of year, so we’ve decided to hold a special day on Thursday 14th December, between 9.30am and 4.30pm, for people to pop in and get in the festive mood!

“Throughout the day the team and I will be on hand to field any questions that visitors may have on mortgages, savings, investments, insurances and life planning, and we’d encourage our customers and members of the public to pop in and say hello.

“From giving people’s savings and investments a health check and making sure they’re working as hard as they can for them, to troubleshooting other financial questions that have been niggling away at them, my team and I will be on hand all day to listen, reassure and advise over a glass of sherry in our welcoming branch environment.”

Skipton Building Society

This Christmas, Skipton is demonstrating its ongoing support for the Alzheimer’s Society by dressing its branches with ‘dementia friendly’ decorations.

63% of people living with dementia receive fewer invitations to social events.

Everyone is  100%  welcome to join Skipton Building Society for sherry and mince pies.

Natasha Howe, of the Alzheimer’s Society said: “Alzheimers Society is extremely grateful for the support we are receiving from Skipton Building Society, not only in terms of significant fundraising but becoming dementia friendly hubs in the local community, offering much needed adapted services within branches and leading by example within the sector.

"We are proud of our collaboration and look forward to the festive celebrations in branch.”
