The seventh Otley Christmas Tree Festival has opened its doors to visitors.

40 trees, donated by Stephen H. Smith, have been decorated by local charities and community groups at Otley Parish Church.

The event was officially opened by Otley Bellman Terry Ford and Guiseley Brass Band provided musical entertainment.

With more than 5,000 visitors last year, the much-anticipated event grows year-on-year.

As well as daily live musical performances, there will be an evening concert by Chippendale Singers and Westgate Primary School Choir at 7pm on Friday.

Meanwhile, a late night shopping event is being held in the town centre on Thursday.

More than 70 retailers have agreed to stay open until 7pm, with entertainment including face painting, carols from Sally's Army choir and a Santa's grotto in Orchard Gate.

The Christmas Tree Festival is open daily from 10am to 6pm daily until Saturday and tickets for the concert on Friday are £5 each.
