A glittering charity event has raised £22,000 to help people in the Dales affected by breast cancer.

Soul Lounge, which was hosted by The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn, featured live performances from Mica Paris, Jaki Graham, Joe Corrigan and DJ Fast from Fun Lovin' Criminals, as well as an auction and firework display.

Organiser Anita Watson, from Askrigg, decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Care after being diagnosed with the disease in January this year.

She said: "I was totally overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the guests at Soul Lounge, and raising £22,000 far exceeded my expectations. Thank you to you lovely generous Yorkshire folk!"

Anita's next fundraising event is a concert featuring Steve Harley in February.
