Knaresborough Tug of War on Boxing Day

1:05am 24th December 2017

Two local pubs are preparing for battle, as the 50th Knaresborough Tug of War on the banks of the River Nidd, returns...

The event takes place at Low Bridge from 12pm, on Tuesday 26th December 2017.

The contest is between The Mother Shipton Inn and The Half Moon Free House.

It happens every year, but this year is extra special, as it's the 50th anniversary!

In addition, this year is the first time new owners at The Mother Shipton Inn, Sam and Tony, are involved.

Both pubs have two teams each, one male and one female, who battle it out in a best of three competition.
