An outline planning application to build 140 new homes in Skipton has been approved.

Councillors waved through the residential development, on land at Hawbank Field, Skipton, at a meeting last week, subject to conditions.

The homes are earmarked for land off the A6131, just to your left as you head into town.

However, a separate application to build 98 dwellings at Aldersley Avenue (pictured above) was refused.

Both matters are now in the hands of the respective developers and land owners.

In relation to Hawbank the next stage is to complete the required legal agreement and submit Reserved Matters applications to the Council's Planning Department.
