Pensioner has bag snatched in Ripon

An appeal has been launched after a bag was snatched from an elderly woman in Ripon.

The incident took place on Monday 12th February, at around 7pm on Locker Lane, Ripon, close to the junction of the Harrogate Road.

The woman was walking along Locker lane when she was approach from behind by a person who snatched her navy blue handbag and ran off towards the Harrogate Road.

The bag was later recovered in the garden of a nearby property, with an amount of cash stolen.

Police have asked for the public's assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Dave Furlong. Quote ref. 12180025298
