St Robert book launch at Knaresborough library

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 6:12pm 19th February 2018. (Updated at 6:14pm 19th February 2018)

This year is the 800th anniversary of the death of St Robert, Knaresborough’s local saint.

As part of the celebrations, local author Peter Lacey will launch his book, Tales of the Celebrity Hermit, at Knaresborough library on Saturday, 10 March, between 3pm and 5pm.

This will be a chance to discover more about this local figure and to find out about the other events planned to mark the anniversary, including a pilgrimage walk, a short story and art competition for children, the brewing of a special beer, yarn bombing and much more.

Copies of the book will be available to buy at £5 each and tea and coffee will be provided. Entry is free and there is no need to book.

For more information, contact Knaresborough library on 01609 533610 or email Knaresborough.library@northyorks.gov.uk. More information is also available on the St Robert website, www.strobertofknaresborough.org.uk.
