An amber weather warning remains in place this morning as Yorkshire wakes up to more sub-zero temperatures.

With no fresh snow in many areas, a number of schools have reopened in Harrogate, Craven and Wharfedale.

Dozens have also announced that they will be closed for a third day running.

The Met Office amber warning for snow is due to last until 10.00am, with a yellow warning taking over until Saturday night.

Overnight, dozens of motorists were left stranded on the M62 after blizzard conditions shut the motorway.

Motorists are being warned against making trans-Pennine journeys.

Leeds Bradford Airport is reopen after adverse condition lead to the closure of the runway.

The A65, between Skipton and Gargrave is open today, after problems caused by snow, ice and a jack-knifed lorry yesterday.

A number of minor routes are still closed and motorists are being urged to drive with care.

At Leathley, The B6161 was closed between Stainburn Lane and Norwood Lane because of drifting.

It is now reopen.
