Hewick Bridge reopened near Ripon

Bridge Hewick near Ripon

5:30pm 7th March 2018

Repairs to Hewick Bridge on the B6265 between Ripon Racecourse and the Newby Hall turn-off have been completed.

The work has finished over a week ahead of schedule and the road is now fully reopened.

The extensive work carried out involved dismantling and rebuilding the parapets, which was essential to maintain and preserve the Grade II listed structure. The parapets on both the upstream and downstream sides of the bridge had eroded stones.

North Yorkshire County Council would like to thank the public and local businesses for their patience during these works.
