Chloe Bellerby, a young woman from Harrogate, has completed a 10 day walk from Leeds to London to raise money for the mental health charity MIND.

Over the last 3 years, Chloe has suffered from mental health, in particular, depression.

She says her life has been turned upside down by the illness.

"Mental illness takes over your life and turns you into a person that doesn’t want to socialise, doesn’t want to speak to anyone, knows no other way of dealing with things than harming yourself and it changes your mind-set in such a way that you feel there is no other option than to end your own life." - Chloe

Chloe decided to set herself a challenge of walking from Leeds to London over 10 days.

She wanted to do something that would give her mind focus and ultimately keep her motivated.

The moment Chloe, Andy & Kaz arrived at Mind's HQ after 10 days and over 200 miles of walking:

The American Dream

Chloe has recently achieved an American soccer scholarship.

Her plan is to raise as much money for charity as possible, in this instance she is wanting to raise money for Mind, before she starts her new American adventure.

Chloe is finding her way to deal with her illness, due to the support she's received from friends, family and a specific school teacher.

According to charity Mind, approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-29-year-olds globally.

Mind charity provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Donate towards Chloe's fundraising.
