Otley junior rugby club celebrating Twickenham victory with open top bus parade

old otliensians have qualified for the RFU National Junior Vase final.

An open top bus parade is being held in Otley this Sunday to celebrate Old Otliensians Rugby club's victory in the RFU Junior Vase.

They were victorious at Twickenham last week against South Molton.

The club was originally set up by ex-students from Prince Henry's Grammar School, based in the market town.

The tour will start from Chaffers Field, off Pool Road, at around 12.30pm.  It will travel down Boroughgate. Crossgate, Bondgate and down Kirkgate to Bridge Street.

It will arrive at Market Square at about 1pm.

Head Coach Kris Stafford said:

"It's nice for the lads to have the recognition.  As amateur players, no-one gets paid for coming down here and giving up your weekend.  Having that recognition from the town of that achievement is really good for the lads and to advertise the club.

"It was probably the biggest day of their playing career to go down and play at Twickenham.  It was something they'll remember forever.  it's big for the town, it's big for the club, and it'll just be a great day for everyone."
