Here's the moment a Stray FM Listener got £1000 richer

Grand Place to Live Winner

It's Local Radio Day on Stray FM and this morning saw the culmination of our Grand Place to Live Competition

All through May Stray FM listeners have been registering their postcodes to for the chance to win £1000 thanks to DoorsDirect.co.uk.

And, on Local Radio Day, the day where the whole of the UK comes together to celebrate Proper Local Radio, we revealed who the lucky winner was.

On Friday morning Will Smith, Beth Parsons and Pete Egerton were dispatched by Nick Hancock to the houses of our three finalists.

Beth was in Ilkley:

Will was in the village of Skelton on Ure:

And Pete was in Harrogate:

One of the lucky finalists would win the full £1000, whilst the other two would receive £50.

After 8am we revealed that Angela from Harrogate was our lucky winner, telling Pete that she would be spending the money on celebrating the 50th birthdays of herself and her husband this Summer.
