Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries after crash near Menwith Hill

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a collision near Menwith Hill.

The incident occurred at around 9.20am on Wednesday, 13 June on the B6451 at Dacre Carr and involved a black Suzuki motorcycle.

The rider was taken to Leeds General Hospital by the air ambulance.

The road was closed for around six hours while emergency crews attended the scene and an initial collision investigation was carried out. Diversions were put in place during this time.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident or are asking anyone who believes they saw the motorcycle prior to the collision to contact them with information.
