Skipton police make four drug arrests in one day

Skipton drug arrests

Published by The Stray FM News Team at 12:24pm 22nd June 2018.

Police in Skipton are cracking down on drug dealing in the area, after making four arrests in just one day last week.

Officers stopped a suspicious-looking vehicle on Thursday and arrested three men for possession with intent to supply.

On the same day, a man in Skipton town centre was also detained under the same charge after police found a quantity of Class B drugs.

Sergeant Paul Evans said:

"We have information that people come from out of Craven to deal and we've got people within Craven that want to deal drugs. We just want to send the clear message out that if you're dealing, we'll be coming after you."

He added:

"The public is key. Any information that you think is suspicious, trust your instincts. Nine times out of ten if you think something is wrong it generally is."

The police can be contacted anonymously by ringing 101, or on the North Yorkshire Police website.
