england world cup defeat

Published by Lisa Darvill at 9:06am 12th July 2018.

There was a mixture of pride and disappointment last night as England were defeated in their first World Cup semi-final in 28 years.

Gareth Southgate's men went down 2-1 to Croatia after extra-time of their semi-final in Moscow.

England's captain Harry Kane says it'll "hurt for a while".

But how are fans in Yorkshire feeling this morning? Stray FM's been speaking to visitors at The Great Yorkshire Show to find out.

"My Dad cried"

7-year-old Phoebe says she had to console her Dad who got a bit upset at the result.

Here's her chat with Stray FM's Beth Parsons:

"I thought we had a real chance"

Another fan reflecting on last night was master beekeeper Malcolm Patriot, who's at the show displaying his bees.

He said he was hopeful England could do it.
