You voted for your favourite bars in Harrogate, and here are results...

Using a variety of polls and voting (and a heated discussion on Harrogate Grumbler) we asked YOU what your favourite bar is in Harrogate, and these were the most common answers narrowed down from almost 50 different bars that were mentioned.

Whether you're visiting the town, are a local resident or the one arranging a bar crawl, you're in the right place.

11. Foundry Project

Self-described as 'the happiest place in Harrogate' The Foundry Project on The Ginnel is bang in the town centre and benefits from a rather delicious £5 cocktail selection 3-9pm everyday. The food menu features pizzas, breakfast and some great sharing snacks plus bottomless brunch on a Saturday and Sunday.

10. The Den

'Harrogates independent live music and sports bar' The Den on Cambridge Road features pool tables, HD TV screens and projectors and free live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Located largely underground, The Den's Sky Sports selection secures a solid returning audience of regulars.

9. The Last Post

A cracker of a pub on the fiercely independent Cold Bath Road in Harrogate, The Last Post is a social house with craft ales, cocktails, sports and entertainment. Dog-friendly and with a loyal following, it also benefits from a slightly quieter location 5 minutes walk from the town centre.

8. Viper Rooms

Usually your final destination in Harrogate, The Viper Rooms late night bar / club will leave your feet aching from dancing. Frequently featuring celebrity appearances (the Love Island contestants in August for example), VIP party packages and arguably the most spectacular chandelier in the town, this venue is most popular after midnight.

7. Little Ale House

What it might lack it size, it makes up for in attitude. Home of the Harrogate Women on Tap Festival the Little Ale House is an independent craft ale micropub which often offers free tasters of beer before you make your decision. Arrive early to get a seat!

6. The Blues Bar

Set on the outskirts of famously beautiful Montpellier area, and just a couple of doors down from the Yorkshire famous tea rooms Bettys, the bustling rowdy Blues Cafe Bar is always a hype of Harrogate activity. Featuring plenty of live music, jam nights and acoustic sessions some of the resident artists including The Jed Thomas Blues Band have a loyal following.

5. Major Tom's Social

With rustic wooden floors and a large collection of board games, Major Tom's Social on the first floor of The Ginnel in the middle of Harrogate feels like home. Dog friendly and child friendly, with a Pacman machine, stonebaked pizzas, and a record shop, there isn't much that this bar doesn't get right! Well worth a visit.

4. The Pit

Guaranteed to be busy on a Friday and Saturday night, whether you're downstairs eating and drinking cocktails, or upstairs trying your hand at a bit of table tennis, The Pit in Harrogate, part of the Arc Inspirations group, tends to be one of the most popular visits for a night out. Bottomless brunch is a solid option for the weekend, and Fizz Fridays are a great way to finish the working week.

3. The Potting Shed

It might feel like you've stumbled into the garden shed, but amongst the flowers, trowels and watering cans, The Potting Shed housed in the Royal Baths building in Harrogate offers a wide range of food and drinks. You can sit inside sheds, get 2 cocktails for £12 Sunday to Thursday, and watch saxophone music between 10pm and midnight on Saturdays.

2. Revolution de Cuba

No need for a trip to Havana, Revolution de Cuba on Parliament Street in Harrogate is a heady mix of snackable tapas and Latin cocktails. It's not unusual to find feathered head gear and carnival outfits, amongst salsa dancing and 2-4-1 cocktails.

1. Monteys Rock Cafe

Taking the top place by quite a long shot, the multi-award winning Monteys Rock Cafe on The Ginnel in Harrogate screams rock n roll. The cocktail menu is vast (often served with childhood sweets), happy hour lasts until 10pm everyday and sticks like glue to a playlist of rock anthems.

If you're about to embark on an afternoon or evening out in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, there is always plenty to see and get involved in.

Now take your pick of which bar first.

Have a great time... welcome to Harrogate!
