Two people and two dogs have been rescued from a first floor flat after a fire in Ripon.

  • Crews were called to Lead Lane at 10.30am this morning after a blaze broke out in an outhouse
  • It started in a tumble dryer in an outhouse - it's believed to have been caused by an electrical fault
  • Smoke entered the flat, which has now been ventilated

The fire on Lead Lane started in a tumble dryer in an outhouse.

Crews were called at around 10.30am this morning and rescued the people and animals due to smoke entering the flat.

It's believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, and thermal imaging camera were used to extinguish the fire.

The flat has been ventilated.
