How to enter this year's Ripon Rotary Bike Ride

Entries are officially open for this year's Ripon Rotary Bike Ride (formerly known as the Acorn Bike Ride), which takes place on Saturday 11 May.

  • The annual Ripon Rotary Ride takes place on Saturday 11 May 2019
  • In the last two years, the 100k "fun run" ride has raised over £63k for charity
  • Cyclists of all abilities are welcome on the circular route, which runs through beautiful North Yorkshire villages
  • There are regular refreshment stops, lunch, and homemade cakes provided at the end of the race
  • It costs £30 to enter before 4 May, and £40 after that
  • Chevin Cycles will be on hand to provide technical support to riders

The 100k circular route takes riders through picturesque North Yorkshire villages, starting and finishing at Bishop  Monkton.

In the last two years, the charity "fun run" ride has raised over £63,000 for local charities, including Dementia Forward and Scleroderma Research.

Cyclists of all abilities are welcomed to take part and can look forward to refreshment stops every 17k along the route; lunch at Sheriff Hutton village hall, and tea and homemade cakes at the end of the race.

Organiser, Chris Eyes:

"The ride goes through some beautiful villages in North Yorkshire. It's an undulating route,  with some climbs, but people of many abilities can achieve it.

"Two years ago, we had a rider of 82 who did really well and finished the route."

Chris hopes 500 riders will sign up this year to take part in the community event.

The minimum age for entries is 18

Riders aged 16 and 17 are permitted to take part, but must be accompanied by an adult.
