Ripon Races has come up with a novel way to race today, after an outbreak of equine flu has shut down UK horse racing until tomorrow.

  • The racecourse is staging the Ripon Racecourse Winter Dash - with one small change - all the participants are toys!
  • The race is at 4pm today and will be live streamed on Twitter and Facebook
  • You can place a bet on Twitter for a chance to win a club badge to a meeting of your choice

On Twitter, it has announced it will be staging the Ripon Racecourse Winter Dash - with one small change - all the participants are toys!

To place your bet, just reply to the original tweet with your favourite (1 to 8), and you could win a club badge to a meeting of your choice.

Staff at the racecourse are taking the event very seriously, tweeting about today's ground conditions.
